Natick Mall, Natick, Mass. (May 15, 2006) – Natick Mall and its parent
company General Growth Properties, Inc., have announced that
construction began today on the state’s first Nordstrom. The
Nordstrom at Natick Mall will co-anchor, along with Neiman Marcus’
first suburban store, the mall’s massive 550,000-square-foot
expansion. The new wing is set to open in September 2007.
Nordstrom at Natick will be a two-level, 144,000 square-foot store,
located in the mall’s expanded wing on land north of the existing mall
along Speen Street.
Nordstrom will offer customers one of the most extensive selections of
clothing, shoes and accessories for men, women and children. The
store will also house a restaurant and espresso bar. As such, the
exclusive retailer is an ideal fit for the mall’s expansion, which will
feature 100 new luxury retailers, premium restaurants, and 215 luxury
condominiums directly attached to the mall, making Natick the first
multi-use environment of its kind in the nation.
“We are proud to offer such an elegant, exclusive store to shoppers in
Massachusetts, and we’re eager to watch as its design and construction
unfolds,” said Stephanie Gambino, marketing manager at Natick
Mall. “It is truly a thrilling step in Natick Mall’s
transformation into a premier destination for shopping and
entertainment,” she added.
Nordstrom, Inc. is one of the nation's leading fashion specialty
retailers, with 156 US stores located in 27 states. Founded in 1901 as
a shoe store in Seattle, today Nordstrom operates 99 Full-Line Stores,
49 Nordstrom Racks, five Façonnable boutiques, one freestanding
shoe store and two clearance stores. Nordstrom also operates 34
Façonnable boutiques in Europe. Additionally, Nordstrom
serves customers through its online presence at www.nordstrom.com and
through its catalogs. Nordstrom, Inc. is publicly traded on the NYSE
under the symbol JWN.
