Information about Mars Music

Since December of 2000, Mars Music in Natick has gone from a new place to go for musical instruments to "THE" place to go for anything musical, including instruction. The store has gone through a few changes since first opening and we've added so many new things that it's like we've just opened again!

One of the main things people ask is… Where is the store?

We are located at 1288 Worcester Road in the Sherwood Plaza East on Route 9 in Natick, directly across from the Natick Mall. Our phone number is 508-650-2071.

We sell a complete arsenal of music and sound equipment including guitars, basses, keyboards, digital recorders, DJ Gear, band instruments, percussion, drums and sheet music.

We also have a factory-authorized facility handling repairs for acoustic and electric guitars, basses and stringed instruments. If you ever want to modify your existing instrument, we also carry a full line of replacement parts and hot rodded guitar pickups to suit any taste you desire. Your limits are boundless …any musical dream can be attained.

Just look for our billboards and follow the road that leads you to your dreams. One is located on McGrath Highway before you get to our Somerville location in the Twin City Plaza and another on Route 135 in Framingham heading towards Natick. And like the sign says: "We're closer than you think"!

An ever-expanding area of interest is our Learning Center. We currently have a Summer Music Camp going on with great success. Younger players interested in music get together and learn from a seasoned teacher. If they are interested, they can continue after the end of the summer. We also have DJ Classes with a top notch popular Boston DJ. This veteran will show you all of the most popular styles from scratching to mixing from using LP's to CD's, you'll be on your way faster than you think. It's a great way to meet tons of people and soon you'll have a following bigger than your favorite band. Give it a shot… you'll like what you hear, when you hear yourself…

As always, there are group and private lesson instruction for all instruments with all teachers board-certified. Technology classes with digital recording and workstation/ keyboard classes are also available.

Outside the store, check out the "Walk Of Fame" murals we had created on our front windows. It's a great addition to
the already exciting atmosphere that is Mars.

If you are trying to decide which equipment you think you'll need, then surf over to www.marsmusic.com and research the gear you'd like to purchase. There are many different areas on the site, enough to suit anyone's liking. Even if you just want to research what an item is all about before you come into the store, www.marsmusic.com has the answers to most of your questions. You'll also notice an event finder that will let you know when interesting clinics will be happening.

Starting August 2nd, we continue our Friday Night Concert Series, live on the Main Mars Stage. Bands perform and receive a live CD recording of their performance as a keepsake, plus they get a video! Anyone wishing to get more exposure by performing at Mars should drop off a CD and we'll see what we can do to help.

One of the most exciting things we have going on in the store is the recently renovated Vintage Guitar Shop.

Inside this area there are more than 100 Vintage, reissued, artist autographed and specialty instruments and amplifiers. Some of the rare items we have here are: a 1963 Martin D28, 1962 Gibson Les Paul Jr, 1923 Gibson L4 Jazz Acoustic Archtop, a 1962 Gibson EB-0 Bass, an original 1976 Gibson Explorer and even a 1959 Fender Vibrolux Amplifier.

The room is arranged and adorned with vintage posters in a way that compliments the instruments. If there is something that you are looking for, just ask. We have the resources to find you exactly what you need. There are also some very custom, limited edition Martin acoustics in the room, including the Mark Knopfler, The Dan Fogelberg, Eric Clapton and the Kenny Wayne Sheppard Models. There's even a CEO-4 Limited Edition, Chief Executive Officer's Model. All of the guitars are protected within the climate-controlled room. So stop by and get back into the Golden Age of Guitars in the "Mars Music Vintage Shoppe."

Lately we've been carrying a lot of great pre-owned items that we purchase from customers and have bought some really interesting, one-of-a-kind pieces such as a Gibson Les Paul Acoustic, a Taylor 712, a Martin CEO4, a Martin Keb Mo Flamed Hawaiian Koa Acoustic, some great vintage Marshall Amps, great PA systems for bands just starting up and some keyboards that are from the 80's we thought were out of date, but artists like Madonna are making them popular once again. Our Pre-Owned room always has something special, so check back frequently or you might miss out on something special.
Last but not least the summer NAMM (National Association of Musical Merchants) show is over and all of the newest items will soon be here for you to check out. Remember: we love when you touch the stuff!
